Experienced Mesothelioma Lawyers

At Kaiser Gornick LLP, we have extensive experience helping victims of mesothelioma and their families file complaints against those who are liable for asbestos exposure that caused the client to be stricken with mesothelioma. Our experienced Northern California lawyers, upon being retained by a client, immediately begin investigating potential exposures and identifying companies that may be responsible for making, selling, installing or disturbing asbestos products.

Determining the Development of a Malignant Mesothelioma Tumor

After confirming a mesothelioma diagnosis, the doctor determines the extent of the disease using imaging studies like a computerized tomography (“CT”) scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These procedures help the doctor determine the best treatment. The CT scan takes X-rays that create a three-dimensional picture of the inside of the body. This allows the doctor to determine the size and position of the tumors and to see if the cancer has spread.

Malignant mesothelioma, especially pleural mesothelioma, can be divided into stages. Pleural mesothelioma can be divided into the following stages:

  • Stage I – The cancer is found in the pleura near the lung and heart or in the diaphragm or lung.
  • Stage II – The cancer has spread to lymph nodes in the chest.
  • Stage III – The cancer has spread to the chest wall, the center of the chest, the heart, the diaphragm, the abdominal lining and nearby lymph nodes.
  • Stage IV – The cancer has spread to distant organs or tissues.

The attorneys of Kaiser Gornick LLP represent California clients at all stages of mesothelioma development. From the initial discovery to the most advanced stages of mesothelioma, we will fight for your full and fair compensation.
